KARACHI: The Sindh Excise and Taxation Department has recovered 1,200 kg of charas from the secret cavities of a truck on the National Highway, said a statement here on Wednesday.

It said that the truck has been impounded while an accused has been arrested.

An Excise team noticed suspicious movement of a truck at Obaoro Bypass. Upon search, 1,200 kg of charas was recovered from its secret cavities.

An accused identified as Abdul Ghafoor Bhutta was arrested.

The value of the seized charas is stated to be crores of rupees. The police have registered a case.
